Longboard Chronicles - i

Looking back at a gnarly adventure I had cruising around the streets of Dumaguete City.
Let's just say I had one shot too many that night hahaha.
Nothing like drunk-skating in the wee hours of the morning.
Dagnabit, I'm such a lady.

*pictures were taken October of last year
when I was chubbier and had longer hair

There Ain't No Party Like A Crazy Girl's Tea Party

It all started with me being my dramatic old self
and daydreaming as usual...

When I was suddenly presented with 3 of my favorite things..

3 of My Favorite Things:
1.) A dusty  teacup and a saucer (each sold separately)
2.) A 1.5L bottle of Sprite with 1/4 of its contents left.
(of which the taste was rather flat.. That or it could have been rat poison.
I still drank it anyway..... What?? I was thirsty, dagnabit!)
3.) A .45 caliber water gun (very lethal)

I knew this was no ordinary daydream and that I should take extra caution.
But gee darn whiz, my curiosity and dry thirsty throat got the better of me
and I poured what was left of the questionable liquid from the Sprite bottle
and drank from the dusty teacup. #Neighborhoodies

And then suddenly, I felt all kinds of funny.
I found myself twirling and prancing about with
my new best friends, Mr. Teacup and Mr. Water gun.
We were in another dimension. We even went to the discoteca!!!
Fast Fact: I love to boogie :)

After all that trippie business, it was time for this girly to rest.
To let go of this very confusing daydream and get back to reality.
But you see, the thing is....

 The daydream is her reality...
*pew! pew!*

You're Seeing Double

People, people look alive! I'm back in town!!
I had one of the most amazing weekends ever and I
can't wait to share with you guys what happened during
my visit to the province that was most affected by last January's
terrible earthquake and landslide. It was such an eye-opener.
But more on that later.
Right now I just wanna have some proper R&R
And by proper R&R, I mean playing dress up and stealing your mother's pearls!
Wanted to try on this men's denim shirt and see if I looked better being
girly or being all boyish. #Neighborhoodies

This is my 90s action movie star pose.
I got a face that's just asking to be punched.

I don't know. I'm confused. Do I look better as
a Manly-Girl or a Girly-Boy?
Life's greatest problems.. *sigh*

Easy Like Sunday Morning

It was mi mama's birthday yesterday so we decided to
go out and have lunch at this restaurant my neighbor owns.
EVOO is what it's called. It stands for Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
The place was really cool. Not too shabby for a guy who's only 21!
As much as I wanted this post to be about the food, sadly I wasn't
able to get good food pics since we chowed down as soon as our orders
arrived. Our bad! So let me just settle for an outfit post instead! haha

This is what I usually wear during Sunday Mass.
It's either a skirt or a dress. I used to hate it when my mother made
my sister and I wear skirts while the other girls got to wear pants. Made
me feel really old-fashioned. Which was not how I wanted to dress at that time.
But I really do appreciate how my mother wanted us to look proper and
lady-like. It was really all about respect.

Chose this wall as my backdrop because this is what I call ART.
Or rather the only art I am capable of doing. haha! But really, the wall spoke
to me of something deeper than just shooing people off who were not
members of this so called HGS club/society. It spoke to me of authority
and the truth of social hierarchy and how white paint looks really
good on a gray background and I'm rambling and just realized that
I don't know jack shit about art. It's time to ignore the crazy girl.

So here's a picture of me looking like I'm really enjoying
the scorching summer heat and the wind in my hair.....

And another one of me looking pretty clueless or stoned. Your choice.

After lunch, we rushed off to our new favorite cupcake place, Sweet Little Things.
It was funny how I looked like the cupcake I ate. #Neigborhoodies

And an obligatory shot of the B-day girl herself posing with her
favorite Lemon Poppy Seed Cupcake!!!
She would kill me if she sees this picture of how I freely decided
to add a tiara on her head. Thank God she's got a great sense of humor? hahaha!
But hey, she's the Birthday girl and a great mom so I say the woman deserves to feel like
Princess Di for a day with a cupcake and a glimmering tiara.

I Got A Pair Of Brand New Roller Skates

There once was a girl who begged her mother
to buy her roller skates at a secondhand shop
because she thought it would be cool and maybe
she could form an all-girl roller derby team like in
that Ellen Paige and Drew Barrymore movie, Whip It!

She loved the skates so much that as soon as she got
them, she gave them one big hug..
(I'm sorry. I'm tryin' to give a good heartfelt story about
skates here so a hug is obligatory.)

Clearly this girl's got way too much free time in her hands
that she pushed and  pulled as hard as she can all day long (possible exaggeration)
until she got her chubby feet inside the darn skates. Look, she tries so hard that it looks like
she's about to sneeze or have an orgasm of some sort.

So she finally got them on and took 'em for a spin....
You know... To paint the town red or something like that..

Wobbly roller-skating virgin legs + a flight of stairs...
Well, you get the picture. It wasn't pretty.

She got a big booboo on her elbow afterwards.
Okay, I lie. I got that bloody scratch 3 hours before
while I was longboarding in a dark abandoned alley.
Made me feel pretty bad ass until I realized it's going
to leave an ugly scar on my elbow. :(

The girl decided that she needed more time to learn the
ways of the great roller-skating masters.
So she opted to be zen and do yoga instead.

This kind of reminds me of the Wicked Witch of The West from
The Wizard of Oz when she got squished like a bug by that house..

I'm hungry and making this post reminds me a of song......

The Girl With Flowers In Her Hair

Found this black tulle skirt during a recent trip to the thrift store.
I'm not even sure whether I'm ever gonna wear this thing anywhere besides
the creepy back lot of our house. But it was love at first sight and I knew I just
had to have it (that or it could've been the really really cheap price).
Either ways I still think it was l'amour. Cheap l'amour. haha!

Wish I didn't look like such an awkward freak in most of the pictures?
Well honey, that makes two of us. I was resisting the urge to skip and twirl and do pirouettes.
The adult in me (scoff) was telling kid me (yeyy) to behave and pose like
Frida Kahlo (without the unibrow). But the skirt. The skirt made me do it.

I look like a 12 year old kid who was pretty pissed off because
her ballet recital didn't go as planned and she wasn't chosen to play the swan queen.
D-d-d-divaaaaaaa!!!

You guys probably don't notice but I did my hair up in a halo braid. I'll post the youtube tutorial I learned from in ze next post. Til' then my lovely doves... Dance in your skirts 'coz it makes the world a happier place :) #Neighborhoodies

Cut Off Crop Top

I know what you're thinking, "Not another midrib baring outfit!!"
But ayayay chicas, I just had to.
When the heat comes on, the clothes come off... or cut off in this case.
Saw this outfit and I knew I just had to jump in on the crop top bandwagon.
You can cut off a singlet and pair it with a high waist skirt! Perfect for ze summer.
#Neighborhoodies
Felt a little artsy fartsy so I decided to dab on some beautiful technicolored English roses.
A pretty pop of color in the pictures. Makes me feel all girly and summer-y and spring-y.
And because dammit when this girl wants flowers, she gets her darn flowers!
Even if it's just the digital e-flower kind you can easily find on google.. haha!
In other news, I finally learned how to download e-books on the internet...
What?! Stop judging me!!
I'm not good with this downloading business, okay? It's a miracle I even run a blog.
Now on to the news.... So I went a little crazy downloading every book I've ever wanted to read
but didn't have the pesos to spend or couldn't find it in the local bookstores.
So I decided to list 'em all and let you guys in on my summer reads.

90s Groupie {The Hansons Concert}

Here's what I decided to wear during The Hansons concert. My sister forced me to come and I couldn't say no. Pssshh.
One minute I'm calm, and the next thing you know I'm screaming my head off wishing I was going to a Van Halen concert instead of watching The Hansons. The constipated look on my face... I can't even...
Balcony seats!! Yeeeaaah!! haha.. I'm sorry. We're cheap like that. And I'm not really into spending too much money on a concert wherein I only know 2 songs. hahaha!
Holy Smithereens!!! Someone accidentally spilled a bucket of sexy on these guys. I still remember the first time I saw there video for their song MMBOP. I was 5 years old and I was very confused if they were girls or boys with really long princess-y blonde hairs..  Those were the days. #Neighborhoodies
My face. They don't call me creepy for nothin'.
I was quite surprised that I actually had fun. Wow I had fun. I guess the 90s kid in me took over and decided to scream like an obsessed fan girl and do tacky 90s dance moves. I was Mmmbopping all the way home.
