Friday Movie Night {La Belle Personne}

J'aime les films. J'adore le cinéma.

I love movies.  I adore the cinema.

 With that said, I've decided that every Friday night will be

movie night in this blog. It'll be fun. Trust me. haha

You'll be reading about movies that I've seen, haven't seen (but wish to see), 

and some I couldn't get a copy of on the internet (boo).

But all of them are beautifully-made and inspiring in their own way.

Just the way movies should be.

So first up is the 2008 French film directed by Christophe Honoré

La Belle Personne.

The Halo Braid

So like I promised (a week ago. Tsk  tsk), I am going to post the video tutorial

where I learned to do the HALO BRAID. It looks very intricate but once

you see the video it's quite simple really. A braid over here and

a twist over there and 50 hairpins later.. Presto! You look like

a German maid who's out to milk her cows or pick wild flowers in the

Swiss Alps. Or you could pretend to be a Grecian goddess. Your choice.

I've seen the movie Chloe and we both know you're only good in...other aspects.

But I still love you. We have the same wide-eyed stare. I can totally relate.

Oh, Sienna Miller. You can do no wrong in my eyes. 

But maybe try putting a little more color on your lips. You look

like you've seen a ghost. Speaking of ghosts, how are you? Watcha doin' nowadays?

Looking For Alaska

So I've finally finished reading the book Looking For Alaska by John Green (actually it was 3 weeks ago but I was too lazy to blog about it). I decided that instead of me writing a 500-word essay about how wonderful and thought-provoking this book is and how I highly recommend it to all who love a good read, I'd just post one of my favorite lines from the book.

  “I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep. Not fuck, like in those movies. Not even have sex. Just sleep together in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was endlessly fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was hurricane.”

The Girl With Flowers In Her Hair

 Found this black tulle skirt during a recent trip to the thrift store.

I'm not even sure whether I'm ever gonna wear this thing anywhere besides

the creepy back lot of our house. But it was love at first sight and I knew I just

had to have it (that or it could've been the really really cheap price). 

Either ways I still think it was l'amour. Cheap l'amour. haha!

Wish I didn't look like such an awkward freak in most of the pictures?

Well honey, that makes two of us. I was resisting the urge to skip and twirl and do pirouettes.

The adult in me (scoff) was telling kid me (yeyy) to behave and pose like 

Frida Kahlo (without the unibrow). But the skirt. The skirt made me do it.

I look like a 12 year old kid who was pretty pissed off because

her ballet recital didn't go as planned and she wasn't chosen to play the swan queen.

D-d-d-divaaaaaaa!!!

You guys probably don't notice but I did my hair up in a halo braid. I'll post the youtube tutorial I learned from in ze next post. Til' then my lovely doves... Dance in your skirts 'coz it makes the world a happier place :) #Neighborhoodies

I did not sleep until 3am because I had a Flight of The Conchords 

Song Marathon all by myself. It's impossible to only listen to 

one song. You've got to have a marathon!

I love these guys. How they write their genius songs, I will never know...

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy

that he thinks his booty is fly??

 

Had the most amazing Monday!! I found me a cheap vintage-y girly bicycle!! Just like the one I wanted on my Birthday Wishlist. It's not pink but that could easily be fixed. Going to pick up my new baby tomorrow!! Wonder what name I'm going to give it :)

The Dreamers

I like people who can teach me something about ”the world”. People who tell me stories about their childhood. People who talk about their favourite films and books and fictional characters. Cut Off Crop Top

I know what you're thinking, "Not another midrib baring outfit!!"

 But ayayay chicas, I just had to.

When the heat comes on, the clothes come off... or cut off in this case.

Saw this outfit and I knew I just had to jump in on the crop top bandwagon.

You can cut off a singlet and pair it with a high waist skirt! Perfect for ze summer.

 Felt a little artsy fartsy so I decided to dab on some beautiful technicolored English roses.

A pretty pop of color in the pictures. Makes me feel all girly and summer-y and spring-y.

And because dammit when this girl wants flowers, she gets her darn flowers!

Even if it's just the digital e-flower kind you can easily find on google.. haha!

 In other news, I finally learned how to download e-books on the internet... 

What?! Stop judging me!!

I'm not good with this downloading business, okay? It's a miracle I even run a blog.

Now on to the news.... So I went a little crazy downloading every book I've ever wanted to read

but didn't have the pesos to spend or couldn't find it in the local bookstores. 

So I decided to list 'em all and let you guys in on my summer reads.
